Administrative Setup
Administratively, the
district is divided into 6 sub-divisions, 7 Tehsils and 3 sub-Tehsils.
From
the view point of rural development, the district is divided into
6 development blocks. There are 270 Gram Panchayats in the
district. Whole of development blocks Mehla, Salooni and Tissa
have been declared backward, while 11 GPs and 17GPs of Chamba and
Bhattiayt block respectively have been declared as dispersed
backward panchayats. Bharmour and Pangi are tribal blocks.
